Program Manager Job Description

Many Mothers, a Santa Fe non-profit providing free, in-home support to caregivers and their families, is seeking a part-time Program Manager to oversee coordination and administration of Many Mothers’ programs and services.

Many Mothers’ mission is to provide in-home services and wraparound care to achieve health equity and wellbeing for babies and their caregivers in Northern New Mexico.

The Program Manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all programs and supervises the Home Visitor and MSW Intern

Duties include:

  • Supervising the Home Visitor in their assigned duties
  • Supervising resource support offered to families enrolled in the Maternal Support Program, as coordinated by the Community Navigator
  • Supervising a graduate-level Intern from the Social Work program at New Mexico Highlands University
  • Reviewing outside resource referral list, compiled by Community Navigator, to be given to families not enrolled in the Maternal Support Program who contact the agency
  • Compiling and reporting Maternal Support Program data, annotated by grant funding, to Executive Director
  • Requesting disbursement of emergency funds, to be approved by the Executive Director
  • Providing occasional additional support to director and other staff members as needed

Responsibilities with Families enrolled in the Maternal Support Program:

  • Completes intake interviews with all families requesting support after intake prep by Intern
  • Collaborates closely with Navigator and Volunteer Coordinator in weekly meetings to determine appropriate volunteer-family matches and to decide which supports and referrals are to be offered to each family
  • Reviews pre-support survey, information from intake interview and needs assessment, as provided by Navigator, for each family
  • During Match
    • Follows-up with families on monthly basis regarding match and ongoing questions/concerns
    • Periodically reviews needs assessment with Navigator and recommends additional follow-ups if needed
    • Troubleshoots issues with and generally provides support to Community Navigator as needed
  • End of Match
    • Communicates with Volunteer Coordinator to confirm end-date of support
    • Sends post-support survey and end of match email to family and volunteer
    • Review Navigator’s report of support and referrals provided to family
    • Collaborate with Navigator on periodic report to Executive Director

Responsibilities as Field Instructor for the Falcundo Valdez School of Social Work (NMHU), supervising Intern assigned to Many Mothers:

  • Provide one hour weekly of reflective supervision of Intern
  • Review and collaborate on Intern’s Learning Contract
  • Meet three times/semester with Field Liaison (beginning of the semester, midterm, final)
  • Complete Midterm and Final Evaluations each semester
  • Assign and coordinate all tasks and projects for Intern
  • Review and give feedback on Intern work
  • Discuss and process ethical decision making with Intern
  • Collaborate with other organizations
  • Plan and initiate orientation

Required Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
  • Outstanding, proven organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities, develop work schedule, and track details, data and information
  • Minimum of four years of experience in an organizational/management position, preferably working with families and/or children
  • Spanish/English bilingual a plus
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, databases, and Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience in organizing and directing promotional events
  • Proven experience and ability to speak to the general public at various venues

Working Conditions 

This is a work-from-home position with standard workweek hours, but a successful candidate must be available to attend outside meetings and may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.

In addition, the following is required: 

  • Ability to lift 25-pound boxes, large bags and boxes of baby clothing, and baby equipment
  • Must have personal transportation and a clean driving record
  • Must carry personal automobile insurance
  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Have reliable cell phone
